Our Story
A family moving legacy that started in 1982
Golden Legacy Moving is a young name on an old family craft. In 1982, our founder Jordyn's father started Grant Moving and Trucking, and the whole family grew up in the work — ten brothers and sisters in all, and every one of them spent time on a moving job with Dad. As Jordyn puts it: "You can say I was raised a mover."
When Dad retired a few years ago, Jordyn took over the moves he was still running and built that work into Golden Legacy Moving. The craft came with it, passed down on real jobs rather than learned from a manual — how to pad a dresser, angle a couch through a tight stairwell, and set a bed frame back up so it feels solid again. Moving genuinely runs in the family: Jordyn's oldest brother runs his own moving company up in Sacramento today.
We are proudly family-owned and based in Hayward, in the heart of the East Bay, and we serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area. From studios and apartments to family homes, offices, and storefronts, our professional, trained crews bring the same steady care to every job, whether we are carrying a single heavy item down three flights or loading a whole household for the drive across the Bay.
The name says what we believe. Our dad is the reason we are in business, and a legacy is something you protect and pass on — that is exactly how we treat the homes and belongings our neighbors trust us with. It is why so many of our customers come from referrals, and why we would rather earn a lifelong customer than rush a single move.
